Our Doctors

Kedron-Wavell MediCentre has been selected as a Level 1 Training site for the training of (our) future general practitioners. As such, our staff doctors are expected to maintain high practice standards, be caring and committed to their patients, and to ensure ongoing professional education.

The GPs working at KWMC have a diverse range of experience, with a variety of special medical interests. In addition, the registrars that rotate through this practice every six months provide stimulating experiences.

Dr Marea McMahon, MBBS, FRACGP, graduated from the University of Queensland in 1976. While training she spent some time working in Western Australia, gaining some experience with the Flying Doctor Service and Aboriginal services in the state's outback. After graduation she worked at Ipswich General Hospital, and then at the Mater Hospital in Brisbane. In 1978 she married and moved to Canberra. She returned to Queensland in 1981 and began working full time in general practice. Marea joined her father, Dr Clem McMahon, at his practice in 1987, where she continued the family tradition of quality care. Her special interests are in the areas of complex medical care, counselling and women’s health. Marea is committed to handing on her skills and experience to the new generation of GPs, through her teaching.

Dr M. Clare Devlin, MBBS, FRACGP, graduated from the University of Queensland in 1975. After graduation she worked at the Princess Alexandra Hospital for five years. She joined our practice in 1994.
