Dr Marea McMahon, MBBS, FRACGP, graduated from UQ in 1976. After graduation, she worked at Ipswich General Hospital, and then at the Mater in Brisbane. In 1978 she married and moved to Canberra. She returned to Queensland in 1981, after her husband completed his University studies, and began working in General Practice. Marea joined her father, Dr Clem McMahon’s practice in 1987 to continue the family tradition of quality care. Her interests in Medicine are with complex medical care, counselling and women’s health. Marea is committed to the handing on of skills and experience to the new generation of GPs through her teaching. She is married to Barry and they have 4 children.

Dr M. Clare Devlin, MBBS, FRACGP, graduated from University of Queensland in 1975 and then worked at the Princess Alexandra Hospital for five years. She joined this practice in 1994. Her special interests are general medicine, preventative medicine, minor surgery and surgical assisting. She is married to John, and they have three sons, one of whom is also a doctor. She is available for consultations on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Dr Winfried Sedhoff, MBBS, BS, graduated from University of New South Wales (St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney) in 1987 and then worked as an Intern and Resident at St Vincent’s Hospital with terms spent at Liverpool, Wagga Wagga Base and Armidale Hospitals in NSW. He completed an accredited SCUBA diving Medical Examiner’s Course in Sydney in 1995 allowing him to perform recreational SCUBA diving medical examinations to Australian state and national standards. He joined the practice in 2002. His special interests are in Weight management / sustainable healthy lifestyle change, Depressive illness, SCUBA diving medicine, and Family care. He is available Monday to Thursday.

AND WELCOMING OUR NEW REGISTRAR DOCTORS:

Dr Kieran Miles, (M.B.B.S), graduated from the University of Queensland Medical School and worked initially at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with some time also spent at the Prince Charles Hospital.  He enjoys the wide variety of General Practice Medicine but has a particular interest in Sports Medicine.  He has worked with a number of sporting clubs in Brisbane including Wynnum-Manly Rugby League, the Brisbane Bullets and Easts Rugby Union.  He currently is part of the medical staff of the Brisbane Lions Australian Football Club.

 

Dr Anton Thompson, (M.B.B.S), graduate of the University Of Queensland School Of Medicine. Before studying medicine he completed a PhD in Zoology at the University of Western Australia. He is interested in all aspects of General Medicine.

 

 

Nursing Staff

 

ExteriorDebbie, RN, completed her general nursing training at the Bundaberg Base Hospital in 1981 and her midwifery in 1983. After having three children she returned to nursing in 1994 at the Bundaberg Base Women’s Unit. She began General Practice nursing in 1995 at the Linden Clinic in Bundaberg. She has continued to work in General Practice surgeries since that time, as she enjoys the interaction with patients at this level. Debbie joined Kedron-Wavell MediCentre in May 2005. Her interests include movies, reading, and walking

 

Exterior

Jodeen, RN, graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing from QUT in 1994. She then worked for 5 years in London at Atkinson Morley’s Hospital and gained diplomas in Neurosurgery, Neuromedicine and Diabetes. After travelling extensively through the UK, Europe and the Middle East, Jodeen returned to Brisbane with her English husband Andy, to start work at The Holy Spirit Hospital in Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery. After the birth of Oliver, Jodeen gained extensive experience in travel vaccinations, through work at various medical centres. Jodeen joined the team at Kedron-Wavell MediCentre in March 2005, to coordinate the care of our patients in the community. Her interests include reading, camping, and going to the movies. Nurse Jodeen is currently on twelve months maternity leave and is being relieved by Nurse Patricia Carter R.N.                                                                                                

All nurses have continued their professional development by attending ongoing medical courses, particularly in wound care, immunization and continence courses. They are valued members of the team at KWMC.

Mathew Dolton, (Practice Manager) has been in the Medical Industry since 1998 and previously worked as a Medical Receptionist, Accreditation Consultant, as well as Practice Manager for other medical centres.  He has also worked in administration and sales industries, so has strengths in customer service and administration.  He is currently expecting his first child in May and his outside interests mainly revolve around medieval re-enacting and Armour making.

 

ExteriorOur friendly and helpful staff are willing to give our patients their utmost support.  They are the hero's of the practice who are self motivated and caring, and take an interest in both our patients and the centre’s wellbeing.
