Doctor's Room
Appointments [top]
Please phone the practice on (07) 3359 2160 to arrange an appointment. The receptionist will endeavour to allocate an appointment with your preferred Doctor. Kindly assist us in reducing waiting times for all patients by informing the receptionist if your consultation involves the discussion of multiple or complex issues. A longer consultation can be arranged. A Standard Consultation is 15 mins duration. If your appointment will need more time, or if you have a number of problems, please make a longer appointment, e.g. 30 or 45 mins. When you arrive at the surgery please check-in with the receptionist before sitting down in the waiting room. If you require urgent medical attention please notify reception upon arrival.
Practice Billing [top]
As we are a Private Billing Practice a fee is payable on all consultations. However, we have endeavoured to keep fees affordable to ensure essential healthcare is accessible to all patients. Considerable discounts are made available to Pension and Health Care Card Holders and these cards must be presented at the initial visit for a discount to apply. Allowances are also made for children under 16 with Bulk Billing available with certain Doctors. All of our fees are below the recommended fees set out by the Australian Medical Association. We aim to provide you with a quality service in a safe and professional environment.
After Hours Care Arrangements [top]
The practice provides an after-hours emergency service. Please ring the practice on 33592160. An answering machine will inform you how to contact the Doctor on-call.
Patient Recalls [top]
As part of our ongoing commitment to high quality patient care, a reminder system is available for all patients for a variety of medical conditions. Reminders are sent to women for their Pap smears particularly. Please inform the receptionist if you do not wish to be part of our reminder system.
Test Results [top]
It is preferable to have a follow-up consultation with your Doctor to obtain and discuss the results of tests and any further action which may be required. For some routine tests in healthy patients (e.g. Pap Smears) normal test results may be given over the telephone at the discretion of the Doctor.
Telephone Access [top]
To ensure all patients receive optimal care and time during consultations, telephone calls to Doctors are limited to emergencies. Our friendly reception staff are trained to help with any enquiries you may have and will endeavour to organize a time that will be convenient to both patient and Doctor to discuss concerns. If your call is urgent, please inform the receptionist immediately and your call will be attended to promptly.
Home Visits [top]
Home visits are available for regular patients of the Practice who are unable to attend the surgery because of their medical condition. Visits can also be arranged for patients in nursing homes. Please enquire at Reception for these fees.
Prescriptions and Referrals [top]
It is not our Practice’s policy to issue repeat Prescriptions without seeing the patient. This is in order to monitor the medication being taken. To enable your Doctor to provide appropriate and up to date medical information to the Specialist, a consultation is required to obtain referral to a Specialist. Should you require either of the above, please phone the Receptionist for an appointment time.
Car Parking [top]
Ample car parking is available adjacent to the entrance, with driveway access from both Gympie Road and Emerald Street.
Disabilities [top]
There is a Disabled Parking space adjacent to the building. All doors are wheelchair accessible. A Disabled toilet is available for use by patients.

There is a kiddie’s play area in the waiting room and there are private areas available for changing and nursing.
