Careers at Kedron-Wavell MediCentre
Kedron-Wavell MediCentre affords many opportunities for general practitioners wishing to join our team. We currently have both full and part time positions available at all levels of experience. Our facility is second to none and the hours are flexible. No after hours or on call work is expected of our GPs, and full nursing support is available. The facility utilises a fully equipped three-bed treatment room with the necessary resources available to attend to a wide variety of cases. Full support is given to general practitioners to ensure maximum income potential.
KWMC has been selected as a Level 1 Training site for the training of our future general practitioners. It follows that our doctors are expected to maintain high practice standards, be caring and committed to their patients, and to ensure ongoing professional education.
The GPs working at KWMC have a diverse range of experience, with a variety of special medical interests. GP Registrars, who are qualified doctors, rotate through this practice every six months, providing stimulating learning experiences for us all. KWMC also accepts medical students undergoing their training to become doctors. KWMC values the apprenticeship model of training, focussing on the passing on of skills and knowledge to our future doctors and specialised GPs.
Kedron-Wavell runs a paperless office, with broadband access in all consulting rooms and the latest in computer hardware and facilities. Our premises are purpose built, with an on-site pharmacy and adjacent pathology services. There are numerous radiology services within a short distance of the practice. Several private and public hospitals are also located nearby, providing safe and convenient access for our patients.
Our patients are from a wide demographic, allowing our practitioners to enjoy a constant mix of cases and patients. The practice began in 1951 and has the benefit of a loyal and substantial patient base, with a steady stream of new patients moving into the city fringe suburb. KWMC accepts refugees for assessment of their extensive health needs.
Kedron-Wavell MediCentre can provide support with relocation and assistance with local facilities and contacts.
Kedron is a fast growing, interesting area with easy access to the CBD, sporting facilities, quality schooling and a wide variety of local entertainment and shopping facilities.
